    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

I see my friends Bubba Ho-Tep and Wolf J. Flywheel have chimed in here. :)

I just wanted to add that I am bringing Infinity (Pan Oceana) and Dark Age (Brood) stuff with me as well, and hope to find some games.

GenCon is so close! I can't wait!

    As an aside:

I don't suppose there has been an announcement as to where the minis hall will be this year? I did a quick search and didn't come up with anything. (Yeah that's right, I'm one of those forum guys.)

Yeah, a tentative location is in this thread. Its near the bottom of the 3rd page where Derek goes into it...just after Bubba cries about there being 4 winds or something.....

To sum up... All  the minis games are currently slated for the ICC... but will be spread out a bit.  Historicals will be in the Wabash Rooms... D&D minis n the upstairs ball room... the rest spread out on the 2nd floor... or around the main lobby (where the Wabash rooms are) on the first floor.

I need to visit this forum more often!

Then my cross posting worked Wink

It sounds like the miniatures are going to be pretty spread out, do we want to try and set some kind of meeting place?

Infinity Players - I'm still new to the game, but do we want to set a point value for games, say 300 or 400 points?

Warmachine & Hordes is pretty standard at 350, 500, 750 and so on.

Darkages - Is there a standard size(s) force for this game. I have not played yet, but several people have offered the use of an army and to teach me, which I am looking forward to. If past history is any indication, this will be followed by several purchase in the dealers room. I've always loved Broms stuff and it will probably take little to make me dive in.

Other games that have been discussed are WH 40K & AT-43. Any other I've missed? I'm trying to get a feel for what to bring as space is tight for me. I have managed to get together and start painting terrain for us to us and have already contacted a few dealers to open the door for future scrounging there.

On a sad note, I remember several people, like myself, were excited about Asmodee's Hell Dorado. I contacted them and they informed me that Hell Dorado will not be displayed or sold at Gen Con Crying

Gen Con is so close, but still too far, I can't wait.

    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

Hey DennisJ. I'd love to play some 400 Pt games. I think that number gives you a lot of freedom in your list building. Can be kindof tough fitting that into one combat group, but it allows for TAGs and stuff.

Also, for Dark Age, the standard game sizes (according to their tournament setups) are 500 adn 750. I've got a 750 point list that consists of about 10 models.

    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

mozart, 400 points does sound appealing, it would give me a chance to try out my avatar. How about we go with a general rule of 400 point max armies, but plan 300 and 150 point armies also? I'm concerned that we really don't know how many players will show up versus how much terrain we'll have available and would like to make sure every gets to play one or two games, even if we try some multi player battles and or off-beat scenarios. I'm still too new at Infinity to know points versus game length, but out of the few games I've played, lots of terrain is needed and the game becomes lethal really quick. Does 400 points play much longer than 200 or does the lethality (not even sure if thats a word) of more or better troops balance itself out?

Mystykal, please feel free to stop by, several people on the list have mentioned bringing extra forces for this reason, myself included.

I'm getting really geeked about our after hours sessions, nice way to end each day with some friendly gaming. Not that I want to imply or suggest anything, but has any tried to keep ice in an army transportConfused

    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

Good point on the smaller lists, I will plan accordingly. On the subject of ice and army transports, I have seen it done. I think it's safest to line the bag with a plastic garbage bag as well. You know, just to keep the ice......that you use to keep your minis cold......from melting all over the place. On the other hand, I suggest a flask filled with your favorite "gaming accessory."

    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

If someone wanted to further their addictions (one guess who), and look at Warhammer 40K, is there anyone out there willing to add fuel to that fire and give an intro game for it? I'm most interested in playing Tyraninds, if that helps.

So, what's that number to Gamer's Anonymous?

No, my wallet's not deep. Child support hurts. (Too bad she can't get the other 3 dads to pay their share as well.)
I heard this, and it looks it, especially an army like Tyraninds that take a ton of figs to field an army (not to mention the time painting). I guess I need a sugarmommy.

That doesn't mean I don't want to learn the basics.

    Re: After hour gaming! (miniature)

I plan on bringing some 40K stuff along. It is one of my numerous mini games that are assembled, yet not painted.

The problem is my gaming philosophy: Make mini game, will try it. Though I am at least now limiting myself to one army per game system. Tongue Tied
