Wow, the difference in energy level between this year's event and last year's was dramatic!  I'm guessing the cash bar was a big part of it--GREAT IDEA, GEN CON!  Thank God for tickets, since my whole group was able to get in at the front of the line and pick the seats we wanted.  I loved it when the guys started taking off their shirts to get Tom W's attention, and Tom said something like "I may have given you the wrong impression here"!  Presumably he would have been more interested if the female participants had started removing their shirts!  

While I love the "intimate" setting, the room was beastly hot and I imagine you could have filled a bigger one. I was glad to see Tom had added another video, a little disappointed to see several repeats.  Maybe next year, he could change them all out and add a yaoi one!  The spoof video in the front was the funniest of all.  Tom's hair was fantastic, as usual.  A rousing success, IMHO!
 

This is the second year running that I've had to miss this event, and it sounds like a lot of fun! Hopefully next year will be better timing for me (hard to turn down a huge house party with free beer).

Too bad you had to miss it again, because it really is a lot of fun.  The only people who got FREE drink tickets, though, were the people who actually got up in front on the microphones and performed the dubbing.  The rest of us had to buy our drinks at rather exorbitant rates.  Best bet--bring your own booze and get a ticket prior to the event.  As far as I could tell, only a handful of us had obtained tickets.

I'm not sure I'd be brave enough to get up there, but then again, if I had visited the Ram first, I could always get ahold of some liquid courage!

I thought the funniest guy was the one who said his porn handle was "Dick Cheney" and moaned lines like "Call me Mr. President."  Whoever you were, that was classic!

 You're absolutely right though.... :( I kinda suspected they wouldn't be showing a hot Yaoi piece (I mean c'mon, the majority of the crowd did consist of rowdy men) But holy crap, it was a good time overall. I wonder if anyone posted any of it on YouTube.... mwahahaha

Yeah, I figured he wouldn't add any yaoi, but it sure would be funny for the girls just to watch the guys' reactions!!!  I think it would be good for them to be shaken up a little!

Don't forget that last year we also had to contend with nearly being killed by the dance going on above us - evacuating everyone and then letting them back in the room certainly put a damper on the atmosphere

But I'm glad the bar idea worked - and it was insanely hot, but I'm not sure that it's ready to graduate to a bigger room yet - or that there's a convenient bigger room available for it any time soon. The only bigger room in the Westin was the Grand Ballroom IV & V, and that was pretty much booked solid Friday and Saturday.

 

I'll see what I can do, but we might need y'all to stay pretty friendly with your hentai neighbors for a year or two yet.

Well, imagine animated porn in all of its disgustingly gooey dripping graphic glory, a room full of at least partially alcohol-laden and possibly slightly horny guys and gals, and a microphone!  Basically, they showed a section of the porn with voices, then played it back without the voices but with some of our fellow attendees filling in!  They could either read directly from the script or make up their own lines, which can get pretty damn funny!  Free drinks for those who actually participated as opposed to just breathing heavily in the audience.  I'm hoping to get my hands on some video footage sometime soon (a friend was there with his video camera!)    It's held in the Westin every year in the Anime Events.  Better get a ticket ahead of time!

I'm not sure if it will be uploaded to the net or not--the GenCon volunteer specifically mentioned that some folks might not want people from the real world seeing their performances on YouTube, so I might actually feel guilty about doing that.  I'll have to figure out a way that might be at least semi-private. I'll give you a heads up when I get hold of it. 

Out of everything that I attended at Gencon the year. This event was certainly the most fun thing for this year. I wasnt there in the beginning, but as soon as some people left, I got to have a seat. For me the event was memorable for the fact that in the middle of the event, I called various friends. So for a vast majority of the happenings, my friends were hearing the dubbing without knowing what was really going on. It was only when I got back home did I reveal what was really going on. At the time I made the calls, my friends were at a party, so the word around the party was that I was in some weird underground wild sex orgy and that they could here a bunch of people cheering... ala the end of Requiem for a Dream. Needless to say, a event I will never forget. It vary well might be the only event I choose to prereg for next year.

I'm glad people had fun at this event. I was one of the door guards and it didn't feel very good turning people away, but I just have to say thanks to all the attendees for making the senior volunteer's staff job easy at this event. Everyone was very civil and extremely cordial, something that I don't see much at other cons.
