    Gen Con Sponsorship!

Hey ya'll! With four months to go until the trip, I want to get the ball actively rolling again. So, first things first...big news!

Gen Con, out of a great sense of charity and in return for our spreading the word of Gen Con while we work, has been tremendously gracious in their sponsorship of Gamers for Humanity. I wanted to officially announce what that sponsorship includes:

    1) 4 (FOUR) Gen Con Indy Promo Passes for 08. These will be randomly distributed among our participants (i.e. people attending our trip in April). FREE badge to Gen Con! For FOUR of our people!

    2) Off The Grid and Gen Con SWAG for participants!

    3) This excellent forum you are currently visiting.

    4) A press release about us, to be assembled in the near future.

    5) Last, but certainly not least...a BOOTH at Gen Con Indy, in the Exhibit Hall. This is wonderful!

I can't thank the people at Gen Con enough. Megan, Peter, Melissa, Adrian...they have been so generous. Now that the new year is here, let's see about making definate committments to attend. How many people can we get? This is going to be a great opportunity to do some good in the world, and get to hang with fellow forumites and gamers at the same time. I'll be posting more info about hotels and worksites and such in the near future.

    Peace.

Tom - that is truly wonderful news!  I truly wished I could go on this trip unfortunately leave won't allow it.  Keep me posted about future projects.

HMMM..... just had a crazy thought - we gamers take over Indy for four days (at the least) what if we could make it 5 or 6 days and maybe pull together and work on a Habitat for Humanity house in Indy?  Don't know if it could work, but who knows.

    Woo-hoo! Great news indeed, Tom!

I probably won't have a firmer idea on if I can make it until about the end of February. (Cursed finances anyway!)

Awesome idea. Email has been sent, I will let everyone know what I hear from the Indy Habitat chapter.

Tom, there's a Habitat chapter office a couple miles from our house. If needed, I can stop in or call them and see if they have use for a group those days.  We are about 30-40 minutes north of Indy.

Keep me posted and I'll see if I could get my family of 4 to help if it does work out.  Good Luck!
