GM email: Cycle 1 LRP & BGM events listed; Event space update; Cycle 3 ending soon

I sent out another GM email about the latest event list release.

Event submission will be coming to a close soon, and we’ve released more events to attendees. I also wanted to give event organizers a quick reminder about event space.

Cycle 1 LRP & BGM events released

We’ve released an update to our event catalogs, adding cycle 1 board games, LARPs and independent RPGs to the listing. You can view the events through the registration system or download the catalogs from our community site.

Please review your event locations and if you have any questions or notice any potential problems, please let me know as soon as you can, so we can address and resolve any concerns sooner rather than later. I am particularly concerned with confirming LARP space – with the construction this year, space assignment will be especially delicate and I want to make sure that we don’t run into any potential problems later on.

Event submission coming to a close – cycle 3 ends on March 31st

Event submission cycle 3 ends on March 31st. Make sure to get your events in before then so we can review and place them before event registration begins on April 20th. If you have any questions or concerns about your events before you submit them, please let me know.

      Event space update

I also wanted to give a heads-up about available event space. We do have space for more events, but available space is somewhat limited. Prime-times (such as 10-6 on Friday and Saturday) are largely booked up for some event types (like RPGs) but we can still accommodate individual events or even gaming groups and companies that are flexible about event times and/or location (i.e. don’t need to be in the same room across the whole weekend).

If you have more events that you would like to submit but you are unsure about available space, feel free to email or call me to go over the options and we can probably find something that will work for you.

I'm particularly concerned with LARP placement - if y'all runnin' LARPs could check your locations and confirm whether those will work or if you anticipate any problems.

I also want to make sure that no one is holding off from submitting events because they think we already have no space left - things are tight during prime-time on Friday and Saturday, but as long as you aren't picky about wanting to be in the exact same room/tables through the whole weekend and/or don't have a ton of events running at the same time, we can find something for you somewhere Smile

    Re: GM email:

I dunno - did you ever request to be added to the list? Unfortunately, the GM email thing is not sent through the registration system, so you aren't added to it by listing yourself as a GM or EO or submitting events. It's a distribution list in my Outlook Smile

If you ain't gettin' GM emails, drop a quick like to events@gencon.com asking to be added to the list and I'll put you in when I get back into the office next week.

Guess it's a good thing I double-post them here too Smile

    Re: GM email:

So... hehe.... the announcements that are sent to GMs ... are only sent to the GMs who knew to ask to put themselves on a manually maintained Outlook alias? :-)

Yeah, it's a good thing you also post them here, but as the mods are quick to point out.... the people who frequent the forums are an extreme subset of gencon attendees.

This just cries out as something that should be automatically generated by the reg/event system.....

    Re: GM email:

Yup. It's something I want to get set up in the future, but we can't fix/change everything at once, and there are bigger fish to fry right now, sadly.

    Re: GM email:

So, how again do we get placed on that list if we are running games?  I would like to be on it.

    Running:
KFG Call of Cthulhu "The Thing They Brought Back"

    Marvel Superheroes "Mutant Massacre!"

1st Ed. AD&D "Secret of the Iron Tower"

    Go Team L33t!
