You are still the best!  Why can't the GenCon people do this?  They should pay you for doing it because their spreadsheet is a POS.

Re: Browse and search event listings online

This is a great help, especially at the last minute.  For the future, is there any chance of getting some kind of option to eliminate looking at the full events? Or is this somehow already available and I have missed it? I realize you can use the ability to check for certain kinds of games and more than 0 tickets available, but I wondered if there was a way to collapse the main listing, and just see the ones still open.

Sadly, there is no way to hide full events.  But it's a good idea.  I'll add it to my wishlist.  It probably won't make it for this year, but hopefully for next.

Potentially dumb question: what is the difference between a "not full" event and one with "more than 0 tickets available"??  Wouldn't searching for something with >0 tix exclude the full ones?

    *EXCELLENT* resource, btw!!!

Re: Browse and search event listings online

PezKat: Are you referring to Allora's and my exchange above?  Assuming so, I thought the same thing at first.  "Just use the Search."  But Allora had an interesting point.  The search is good if you have a specific goal ("Show me all D&D games with at least one ticket available").  It's not so good for browsing the entire site.  You lose the sorting by category and game system.  So what I wrote down on my to do list is to implement what I'm calling filters.  It would basically be the search interface, but simplified and applied as you browse.  You could ask, "Only show me events with at least one ticket available, and welcome newcomers."  The top of the screen would then say something like, "Only showing events with...  To see all events CLICK HERE." Then you could browse through the site only seeing the subset that is useful to you. (If you're familiar with NewEgg's "Advanced Search," it's very similar.  Click "Advanced Search" on the left side of this page for an example.

There are some technical challenges, but nothing exceptionally complicated.
