Sephera:I took a class once. I was several months pregnant at the time. I arrived later than others, so the only spots left were almost directly in front! Maybe I'll try it again when I don't feel like a watermelon.
It was much more work than I thought.
The class I took encouraged us to wear high heels and had some to borrow. Does this instructor encourage high heels?
Okay, seperate small concern. How do we make sure the guys (if any) show up to try it, not to watch it? That would certainly make things more uncomfortable for those that are shy.
Actually, I do NOT encourage high heels. In fact, for a beginner class, especially this intro class, I prefer everyone to take the class in bare feet. The reason for this is that the moves that I'll be teaching will be diffiult enough on their own without having to worry about balancing on 7 inch heels. That is NOT to say I'll be teaching super advanced moves, but the first time you're on a pole, even a fireman spin can be daunting. When I teach my normal class at home I perfer everyone to be comfortable with the moves before attempting to throw shoes in to the mix.
That being said, if you really really want to wear high heels, I won't stop you.
As for gawkers, I will not let anyone in the room who does not have a paid ticket. Also, everyone who signs up for the class will be particpating or I will ask them to leave. I really don't think it will be an issue, but I'm sure we can get a bouncer type person if necessary.
This will be a FUN class first and foremost. I want everyone to feel safe and comfortable!
