I know there was anime last year, there should be some this year.

If I remember correctly it was held in one of the ballrooms over at the Westin hotel.

I don't really know what crosplaying is so I can't answer on that.

 Cosplay is a big part of GenCon. There are many who come in their favorite Anime and/or Manga costumes. There are some rules on weapons that can be found here http://www.gencon.com/2008/indy/attendees/policies.aspx#Convention .The Westin(I believe) does play host to numerous anime shows and the anime library during GenCon. There is also some fun events such as dubbing and hentai dubbing(18+ only). I also believe that they still do a karaoke event for anime and japanese songs. Keep your eyes on the event catalog to find more anime events.

There will indeed be anime again this year, and the current plan is to have it back at the Westin as well.

Cosplaying and costumes are a big part of the show, and they're definitely not limited to anime/manga characters. There aren't really any specific rules, beyond the standard safety concerns that all attendees must abide by. Further, crosplaying is certainly allowed as well. No one's going to be double-checking to make sure you are what you're dressed as

Yeah I think my daughters are going as male Naratuo people. (I know I cant spell either.)

On my end it was a misspelling, I just did not know it was an alternate word for costuming.

You can't go a step or two now without almost stepping on someone in costume period lol.  I LOVE that about the Con--seeing all of the creations ranging from so-so efforts--to elaborately re-created character representations from across the gammit of Sci-Fi and Fantasy.  Can we ever forget our own beloved GEN CON NUN!!  Anyone heard from her lately BTW?  Or the Duct Tape Girl, or Storm Trooper Babe?  Where are all of tried and true faves??  The Wildes haven't been away that long darnit.
