This thread is about me and a friend of mine (obviously no designers) who decided to check whether the game of spectromancer was foolproof against attempts to ... circumvent ... its rules. It's really easy to tell the game that you chose a class you are not currently allowed to play (it does of course require an external program, but it's basically still just like choosing Mechanician from the menu that currently only allows Random, Cleric and Illusionist). Obviously, the other classes are fully implemented already (the AI can play them, of course), so if you trick the program into thinking that you normally chose a class you...well...can't choose normally, it will believe you and allow you to play it. However, all those classes obviously will be available to everyone in a later stage of the beta, so while this is a bug that should need fixing from the programmers' and designers' points of views, there are more glaring bugs that need to be adressed as soon as possible.
I won't tell you how to play the other classes yourselves because
a) they are not yet balanced, believe me on that, Greater Demon currently has stats of 12/60 and an added effect that deals damage to the opponent's creatures equal to your fire power, etc. (and all that for the same cost of the more than situational Archangel who "only" has 11/50)
b) they will be available sooner or later for everybody
c) the exploit, circumvention, hack or however you call it still involves downloading an external program and you should never trust strangers on the internet with downloading things like that
If you need help in fixing this bug, ask me ingame or write me a PM in this forum.
I'll write a bug report with the serious exploits tomorrow.
