    Re: Who's throwing parties?

Those that are invited to the parties, know how to find out about them. Those that don't know how to find out about the parties aren't invited. There are very few, if any, truely open parties, where anyone can show up, without being previously invited. So posting that info on the forum, isn't the best of ideas.

If you want to be invited to the parties, my suggestion, hangout on the forums, have fun, talk to new people. Then magically you find yourself invited to parties and other shennigans.

Phase One: Hang out on boards and talk to people

    Phase Two: ???

Phase Three: Get Invited to Parties.

See it's all rather quite simple. Smile

    Emrak:

Given some of the more conservative responses in this thread, I'm starting to see why Mike B & Co decided to split the party into two... Wink

    Mossi:
There's no organized party planning. What you've read about are the parties thrown by people willing to let it be known far and wide they are having parties.

Riiiiiight. So wouldn't it make sense to consolidate that info into the first thread as a listing for simplicity's sake?

Um, there's one party that's been mentioned.  If you are too lazy to read through 3 pages to find out where the parties are, you probably shouldn't be attending them anyway.

    Re: Who's throwing parties?

Having the first post list all the parties going on is a good idea however Donstermu would have to do it since he is the one who started the thread.

If Donstermu isn't interested in doing it someone could start another thread and maintain it.  To keep multiple room party threads from popping up Donstermu should get right of first refusal.

I am considering creating a separate thread on just the MikeB/After Dark Party to solicite ideas/themes.

    Re: Who's throwing parties?

     wow...parties parties parties....

well, i'd love to go to the afterdark party...how does one get invited? Big Smile

i understand need for consistency, but posts always end up evolving into something else off topic. but hey, lest they're parties, and, they're parties about hooking up....so there's that consistent thread.

so, there's teh singles party on thursday night, plce to be announced, only singles, and open to the public. i think we're going to post flyers too. : )

then, the mike b early party..and the afterdark party...

i'm more up for the afterdark..sounds like naughty good fun!

I think the MikeB/Afterdark party is one and the same, just two parts to one party.  One is PG-13, and one is possibly R and up. Both parts are 21 and over. How do you get involved?  I'd suggest sucking up to Savior or MikeB.   Or be a hot girl.

Um, Mossi, I hope you meant for there to be an 'up' after sucking...

Anyway, Don, keep in mind the strict rule about flyers and posting them. I know KFG is talking about finding other ways of posting their flyers because you won't be allowed to attach anything to walls, etc. Just something to keep in mind. Besides, I would recommend a certain level of cryptology on the flyers so that you get the people who are somewhat in the know, without getting too many random people in off the street who ... don't fit the criteria. No, I'm not trying to be elitest about it, but it is supposed to be a singles mingle.

Well, on Tuesday night, I saw him at Kroger, but I didn't get a chance to talk to him very long.

With the kind of work he does, he has a tendency to get slammed and disappear for a few weeks until he can get caught up.

No, he actually looked like he was planning a picnic.  Well, truthfully, all I saw was a case of beer, so I guess it could have been for reasons other than a picnic.

If he doesn't show up in a few days, let me know and I'll call him.

I think Mike could easily handle a case of beer within a few days.

Looking forward to the parties, seeing some friends and swapping some lies.  I didn't get a chance to attend MikeB's last year but was there the year before.  And I've been to one or two of Savior's parties in the past.  Good times, good times.

How in the world is this thread offtopic??  It's not even PG, let alone anything worse.

I agree I didn't think the thread was off topic..it's about room parties, maybe it was because it was about just one specific party {shrugs}.

Not saying it wasin't PG, but throwing the word 'Sex party' around may get some people to say they are going to far..I was just trying to warn the new guy that you have to watch what you say cause the rules of the forums are tricky sometimes.

Good point about posting parties on the forums, probably not such a good idea, posting room numbers or hotels anyway. You would just get many people you don't know and possibly even youngins who lurk on the forums. Smile

First you ask where us mods are, then you bash the poor guy for politely popping an 'on topic request'.... He was referring to walking the halls nude, silly rabbit. As far as party attire ideas and more specifics, PM Savior. Maybe he can start his own poll for idea preferences. I'm assuming he's talking about his adult party. Savior is an old fixture, btw. He's always watching what he says, lol. He's got a big heart and a wild side. So does MikeB. Together, the bash should be ..interesting!

I didn't ask where any mods are, I stated I was suprised they didn't warn to 'be careful'  with chosen words. I am in no way offended by anything in this thread..if I was I wouldn't read it. I was simply trying to help the new guy to be careful with the choice of words used because I have seen many situations where a mod has had to step in.

I thought this thread was started to get disccusion on the party's being held, specific's and all. I apologize if I was at all rude or sounded like I had an issue.I think a poll would be a wonderful idea, and it should be interesting!

So, we have a singles party open to public? And the Mike B/Savior bash..anyone else?

    Re: Woh woh woh..

Well, I didn't mean to cause any trouble. This is a thread about Gen Con parties in general. It began to spin off into a discussion of just the "after dark" party and the clothes, nudity, and invitation status thereof. And since Savior had very kindly pointed this out himself, I just wanted to provide a friendly mod nudge.

I guess I can stop checking my in-box for an invitation!  (j/k Stick out tongue )

Look, can we all just stop fooling ourselves and do away with this arbitrary partition? Just ditch the whole "PG-13" element of Mike B's party, turn the whole shebang into the "R" rated version (sorry, prudes need to go back to a hotel lobby and chit-chat if they're disturbed by swearing, etc...), and let's all get on with our lives!

I'm not sure why you care so much... you are NOT a part of this group yet.  Every party here so far has really been a friends type party.  You've only been in the forums for a few days and I have zero reason to trust you.  After reading your posts I have even less reasons to trust you so you have dug yourself a little bit a negative to get out of.  You haven't even taken the time to get to know us and yet you start going around trying to change how we do things and how we associate with each other.  I personally do not appreciate that or take kindly to it.  We do have a very fine group of people here who are our friends that would not appreciate the more adult nature.  I respect them and love them just as much as I love my wilder friends.  If you had taken the time to get to know us better before offering suggestions you would realize this.  I personally have no desire to offend or exclude many of my friends from a party so I am very fond of Savior (and his party idea, hehe).
