Who is this "us" you refer to? If it's forumites, news flash, I'm part of that "us." Wink If it's group XYZ and can only be talked about by such-and-such, then take it to another (perhaps private) forum and enjoy the stagnation. Otherwise, I'll continue to make random suggestions as they occur to me. To answer your first point---why I "care so much"--- I can only direct you to the obvious qualifier I display at the bottom of my posts. It's easy to miss, it must be the italics. I shall  bold and underline it for your edification.

P.S.---in case any folks haven't caught on by now, do not take my posts seriously. i work for the army and we are earthy folk, and overall, little use in polite society.

But the thing is is that even though we should not take you seriously, you should give us a chance to get to know you before taking it to the level you are. You may be a cool person, but noone will want to find that out if you don't let them get the chance to get used to the humor. Trust me I've got a sense of humor that may not be deemed appropriate at times so I try to keep those parts in check. Small doses to start, as we get used to it then try more.

Keep on posting and let us get to know ya better.

If you can read this you are to close so back off.

You are wise, Game Junkie. You would definitely have higher-than-normal odds of making it out of a zombie-filled compound to the waiting chopper... Unless they were Rage Zombies, then all bets are off.

If you want to pick a fight... yes you are because you joined here.  However you have been here less than a week and you have already turned a lot of people off.  No one really knows anything about you other than you're being a PITA thus far.  I wouldn't call you one of "us" just yet, because "us" is used in the terms of the friendships here.  You've turned off more than just one of the single female gamers as well... so I can say personally that this point I absolutely would not be comfortable with you at the more adult oriented party.  I'd suggest (as I believe I did previously as well) that you stop digging holes and actually work on friendships instead of friction here.  If you want to go to parties where everyone that is a friend in the forums goes to then you need to actually start acting like someone we want to have as a friend and can respect.

1.) Honestly, the only one picking a fight here is you. I'm just cracking jokes.

2.) You're making a lot of awfully huge assumptions about what *I* want to do.

3.) You're in violation of the COC here by slinging personal insults.

p.s.---hiding behind some effervescent group ("lot of people", "no one knows", "the single female gamers", etc) to make your points is below you. stand on your own two feet to make your points. i'm just sayin.

If they are jokes then they are in extremely poor taste for a group of people you barely know.

    Emrak:
2.) You're making a lot of awfully huge assumptions about what *I* want to do.

No, I'm looking at your total posts.  You came on here and immediately started complaining about the name of the Stink.  You complained about hotels, you complained about TD.  You claimed your life sucked because of such.  You then continue to tell us how we can change things to make things better when you don't even know us.

    Emrak:
3.) You're in violation of the COC here by slinging personal insults.

So now you want to play mod on top of everything else huh?  Saying that you're being at PITA is not an insult, it is my opinion (and several others).  I did not call you a single name.  I have certainly not violated any rules here.

    Emrak:
p.s.---hiding behind some effervescent group ("lot of people", "no one knows", "the single female gamers", etc) to make your points is below you. stand on your own two feet to make your points. i'm just sayin.

No, I am not hiding behind some group of people... notice the usage of the words "I" and "personally".  I didn't speak for any group at all, I only spoke for myself.  The fact that you have offended other people is part of what helped me come to my own personal opinion of you though.  We do talk to each other here outside of the forums.  I was simply trying to help you realize that you are making enemies here and not friends... very quickly.  It is becoming apparent that you don't want to actually befriend anyone here because you continue to pick apart things that we have been doing for years and insult people that are friends with each other yet for some odd reason you want to be a part of "us".   I would strongly recommend once again that you consider that if you want to attend events of forumites that it is in your best interest to actually be friendly and get to know the group before you start making suggestions about things you have no previous knowledge about.  Most of us have been here for years (the date joined for most of us is the day the new forums went live and not reflective of how long we've actually been here).

    Re: booyah

Dagnabbit, why do the fights always break out when I go away for the weekend?

This is a thread about parties at Gen Con.  That's it.

    Everyone, don't feed the trolls.

Emrak, may I steal the suggestion of game junkie and suggest that you take some time to get to know people around here before you post something that might be controversial.  Posting something you know might be offensive, but then telling people not to take it seriously, is simply not going to cut it around here, even if most people know what your sense of humour is like.  And yes, we do have MANY military people here just like yourself, so it shouldn't be a matter of people not getting your "earthy military" sense of humor.

Savior has done a fine job of balancing on the very edge of the narrow PG13 fence, and as long as he doesn't fall off that fence into uber naughty territory, he can run his party as he pleases. If you have suggestions for his party, I'm sure he would welcome PMs in that regard.

If someone else wants to run a party, that's fine, just keep any references to it PG13.

No more sniping in this thread; take it to PM, or take it off the Boards, but another snippy post in this thread and it gets locked, and that's final.  I don't appreciate a fun thread about parties being turned into a snipe fest.  If anyone doesn't like this, I'll discuss it with your further via PM, but not in this thread.

I doubt I'll be throwing a party this time around as I have a single at the Omni and 2 roomates, but I'm sure I'll make it to one place or another before it's all over.  I threw enough parties back in college to appreciate the joys of crashing in a clean and quiet room.

HI, new person to the furoms here. I understand the more "adult" party is invitation Only(which I fully understand the reason behind that), but I may have glossed over if the other parties are also invitiation only. This will be my third year at Gencon and would like to get to know some of the regular people that attend. I am hoping to make some friends that I can be excited to see each time I go to the Con

    Re: booyah

I don't know that they are specifically "invitation only", but I don't expect anyone to post room numbers on an open forum... talk about liability. True, you can go in and edit your post later, but if someone quotes you, it's there till they change it. The invitation portion would probably include finding out EXACTLY where it is.

Hmmmm, Guardian 6 of the parties...

Go to the hotel southwest of the convention center, slip the doorman $5 and proceed to the lobby. Once there, you will see a price listed for the calimari in the bar's restaurant. That is the floor number. Once there, just follow the security guards to the correct room. Make sure you hurry, the duration is tenable.

Same here!  I go with my family and a friend every year, but I thought it would be fun to branch out and meet some new GenCon folks.  I hope that by getting to know people a smidge on the forums -  and then better through parties and such  - it might be possible to make the Con even cooler

I'd throw a party, but our kids are with us.  I don't want any of my kids to think a party at a hotel is a good idea have even heard of a party until they're 30 Big Smile

My first time at Gen Con Indy also, so I plan on going to the Tue and Wed night gaming events and hanging out at the Stink to meet people and let them meet me.  That way they get to know me and vise versa.  But we are all gamers so how bad can we all be?  Also I plan on going to the Ram (local gamer hang out I hear) and meeting more people...ok and drinking beer.  So hopefully I will meet everyone at one, two, or all of these events.  See you guys and gals soon.

First one I can remember was from Recreation Unlimited, I was 19. I didn't start drinking till I was 23 or 24 though. I think I had a bottle of rum once when I was 19 or 20. It was at home, and the mother of my kids said I was a boring drunk. I just sat on the couch, not wanting to move, just zoned out. I've never been a 'partyer' though. I drink to go out, I don't go out to drink. I have never been able to drink by myself. I've dumped out many beers because I tried drinking by myself at home... couldn't do it. I'd dump it out and grab a pop instead.

Discussion of the After Dark Party

    Good Morning everyone!

As you probably noticed the After Dark Party thread was closed down.  The party continues as planned however per GENCON discussion and links regarding it must be handled through PMs/e-mail.   That is all that will be said about it and further comment/discussion will only likely result in deleted posts.

This does not affect the MikeB/Savior Room Party and discussion/planning for it may continue in public.

One final note - this was not a moderator decision so please don't give them a hard time.

For details and invitation information regarding The After Dark Adult Party please PM/e-mail Savior for details.

My opinion.....if you want to meet new people, think about coming by KFG Gaming on Tuesday night or Wednesday.  We're just a bunch of fun-lovin' folk who enjoy getting together for gaming and lies and more gaming.  Check out the KFG area for more details.  KFG, we put the "G" in "nonsense".

The KFG now have forums! Hide your youngin's.

I guess KFG Tuesday and Wednesday can count as parties. I'll be the Tuesday moreso since it's a bit more informal.

Come on over to the Ram and let your Mullet down.
