    d20 [d20] Gen Con Unofficial Events, 2008

I think it's time to start the Unofficial Events List. Here's the drill. If you want to run a game in an open gaming area, post it here. We'll keep a running list of the games that are available. When you post your game, please include the following:

Game/Version - [If you're holding, say, a game of RISK, put "RISK." If you're running a D&D adventure, put "Dungeons & Dragons." If applicable, put the version of the game you're running.]
Title - [If you're running a specific adventure, put the title of the adventure. Otherwise, just put N/A or leave it blank.]
Date/Time - [The day and time that the game will be run (i.e., 8/18 at 11:00 p.m.). If you're running several instances of the same game, list all dates and times.]
Location - [Be as specific as you can. Remember, these are unofficial events, so you have to find the space yourself. You can use the open gaming areas, your hotel room, the private room of a restaurant, etc. (If you plan to run the game in a public venue, please clear it with the management first.)]
Slots - [The maximum number of people that can play the game. There's no hard rule here. It's up to the discretion of the person running the game. (GMs, if members have already expressed interest in your game elsewhere, list their names here.)]
Additional Notes - [Whatever the heck you want to add. Age restrictions, supplies players need to bring, bribes you will accept, whatever (within reason, of course).]

In addition, if you want to play a game that is not yet listed then post that and we'll keep a running list of Games Wanted. That way potential GMs can see what people would like to play.

    **Updated 4/23/08 @ 10:50am**

    Games Wanted
    Paranoia
    Redneck Life
    Mutants and Masterminds

    Say, Senor SockMonkey,

Do you happen to know when people can start using the open games area in the convention center itself?

I'm running a Paranoia game at 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday at The Ram as part of KFG Wednesday Gaming.  KFG games at The Ram will not appear in the GenCon registration system or catalog.  The signup thread is http://community.gencon.com/forums/t/15334.aspx  As of now, there are four slots open.

Sadly, I'm not coming up till Thursday. :( But thanks for the quick response! Hopefully I will be able to make it up on KFG Wednesday next year and meet all my Redneck brothers and sisters!

If you happen to run any more during the week I would most definately be interested. I know how busy you guys are though.

Heh, we have to leave at 3 AM so we can get to Indy in time to get checked in and get our stuff from Will Call.

Good question. And I know I'm remiss for not having this info readily available, but I don't. (Bad mod. Baaaaaad mod.) Let me look it up.

I was going to run Redneck Life on Wednesday, but missed the registration cutoff for KFG gaming. Sad

Drave can correct me on this... But with as many full games as we are currently running I don't think there would be a problem with trying to put more games into the system on Wednesday... That is if there is room in the hotel space.   The Ram is at capacity... but  if Derek ok's it... it might not be a bad idea to add a few more games.

Here's the KFG situation....We're stuffed full at The Ram, so there are no openings there to run games.  As for Wednesday Gaming, I don't think there would be a problem adding a ticketed event through the GenCon registration system.  If someone is interested in doing this, just go ahead and submit it.  The more, the merrier!

Anyone interested in "A Game of Thrones" RPG (D20)

Very cool system - I would be able to run a game Wednesday night, or almost any other night (except Saturday - I volunteer with the auction).

Depending on when Wednesday, a friend and myself might be interested in A Game of Thrones. Let me know the details. :) Thanks for offering it!

Cool - I have one other person that has shown interest - I will post more information on Saturday.

I am staying at the Crowne, so maybe there will be some space there, but still kinda playing it by ear right now in regards to location.

Re: Gen Con Unofficial Events, 2008

Game/Version - A Game of Thrones D20 (Guardians of Order)
Title - Game of Thrones RPG, Episode 1: Winter is Coming
    Date/Time - 8/13/2008, 8:00 PM
    Location - TBD
    Slots - 6 (4 are currently available)

Description: In a land where summers can last decades and winters a lifetime, trouble is brewing. Join the tale of lords and ladies, soldiers and sorcerers, in the deadliest of conflicts: the game of thrones.  You are members and among the household of a lesser noble house, the Umbers of Last Hearth.  Life in the North has always been harsh with bitter cold even in the summer.  The Wall was built to protect the kingdom from the dangers beyond, but the defenses have grown weak and have scattered over time.  Winter is Coming.

I submitted this event to also run 'officially' for Friday night at 8PM - we shall see if it gets approved and assigned or not.

Let me know if anyone is interested.

Thanks jerrytel, I will definitely be looking for this.  I don't know if I will be able to play on Wed or not, but my Friday is clear.  If it gets approved, Solitude and I are planning room in our sked right now to attend.

Awesome guys...looking forward to meeting you all.  Hopefully the Friday game gets approved.

When I finally mustered the courage to try to run a RPG at Gen Con (I usually just play RPGs with people I know), the event deadline had already passed.
