GM email: Highlights for program guide & web site due Friday, May 2nd

Another GM deadline is approaching at the end of the week, so here's a reminder

    Highlights Due on Friday

Don’t forget: game and event highlights for use in both our program book and on our web site are due Friday, May 2nd. I have already received snippets from some of you but if you have yet to send in your details please do so ASAP. If you anticipate a problem getting the material in on time, please contact me directly so we can work out an appropriate arrangement.

This text is not required, nor it is simply the descriptions you provided for your events when you submitted them. This is your opportunity to talk about your company or group’s overall event program, talk about the cool stuff you’re doing and generally get a bit more exposure overall. It is not simply a list of events and game IDs.

Submitted text will be used in the program book as well as on our web site. Here are some general guidelines and stipulations for event highlight text.

    • All highlights are due May 2nd, 2008
    • Email your highlights to events@gencon.com and include your text as an .rtf or .doc attachment.
    • Highlights should be approximately 300 words or fewer. Companies/groups with a large number of events to cover may be granted an exception, on a case-by-case basis.
    • Do not simple list all your events and game IDs. Highlights should be used to highlight and promote special events or programs. You can provide game IDs for sample events but use this as an opportunity to talk about your overall event program instead of just reiterating your event description.
    • Please include a print-quality (300-dpi) logo for your company or gaming group, if you have one.

Submissions that fail to meet these guidelines may be edited or simply returned to you for correction.

As always, if you have any questions, concerns or problems, please let me know. Feel free to email or call me directly.
