KFG Tuesday Night Gaming: Call of Cthulhu "Whitemarsh Hall"

Where:  The back room at The Ram

When:  8pm-11:45pm (we HAVE to be out of there by midnight) Tuesday night, August 12th, 2008

What:  6th Edition Call of Cthulhu, "Whitemarsh Hall"

Description:  The long-since demolished Whitemarsh Hall still fascinates people to this day. Some Whitemarsh Hall fans, along with architectural enthusiasts, have joined together for a brief tour of the area in order to reminisce about what one author called the "Versailles of America." Now, there's a lot more to this game than that (this is a Cthulhu game after all), but you wouldn't want me to spoil the surprise, now would you?

    Number of players:  8

EDIT:  If interested, please respond in this thread.  Thanks!

Shaggoth yea.... another game system I get to learn this year? Count me in. I'm in for serious system overload this year, and I'm looking forward to it. So far, I've only read At the Mountains of Madness... I hope to read at least one more Lovecraft before the con, but I think I need to start doing my research on some other games I'm playing, and I'm almost done with Motorcycles for Dummies... since I just bought a bike and now need to learn how to ride it.

Quote from Dragons of the Dwarven Depths, p259 ... Tas and Tanis talking after Tas says a prayer for the massacred Gully Dwarves.
"It was good of you to think of that," said Tanis. "None of the rest of us did."
"You're busy thinking big things," said Tas. "I keep track of the small stuff."

    Sign me up please.

This will be a first for me. I have never experienced any restaurant that actually made customers leave. Will the game be truncated and if so any chance of simply relocating at 12 to finish?

The Ram opens two hours early, at 9:00 a.m., for KFG Wednesday Gaming.  Normally, the restaurant opens around 11:00 a.m.  For a 23 hour period over two days, the KFG literally invades The Ram.  As a group, we want to be able to return year after year, so we try to emphasize the closing times to help out as much as possible.  So, it's not necessarily "making customers leave" as much as "not leaving a bad impression".  That, and many of us need our beauty sleep for KFG Wednesday Gaming.Wink

The game will still have a ~4 hour slot.  If we need to move the game at midnight, we can move to a hotel lobby or someones room.

No need.  I have run this game before, and I assure you it will be done in the 11:30 to 11:45 range.  You will get the full experience . . . Muuuuaaahahahahaha! Devil Aaahahahahahahaha! . . . Ahem.  Sorry, that just happens from time to time.  One of the hazards of the Keeper profession.Wink

Anyway, you will get the full experience in during the time we have.  Now, if anyone wants to continue DRINKING after the game, I would certainly be interested in relocating for that purpose!DrinksBig Smile

Re: KFG Tuesday Night Gaming: Call of Cthulhu "Whitemarsh Hall"

Any room left?  I was going to come up Wed. but the idea of playing (as opposed to running) some Cthulhu is very appealing.  Not sure where I would stay though.

    Running:
KFG Call of Cthulhu "The Thing They Brought Back"

    Marvel Superheroes "Mutant Massacre!"

1st Ed. AD&D "Secret of the Iron Tower"

    Go Team L33t!

I think that closes registration for this game.

Senor Draven has already covered everything you need to know for Call of Cthulhu.

Just show up with some dice and you're good to go!
