This makes me very happy as I was one of the people who threw out the idea to promote GenCon using the them. I hope to see you there.

     P.S.
I'm bringing Shiela & my Presto... along with some steampunk stuff and LARPing costumes. I'm pretty much gonna have a suitcase full of costumes. If you see me guys, say 'hello,' me and the boytoy are gonna do some Con Blogging for http://www.youtube.com/creativejuices7

    @Avianna

Oh, duh!  You're likely the same Avianna from cosplay.com.  /slaps forehead/  I be so clever.

On Thursday I'll be Trish from Devil May Cry 1.  So far that costume had cost me $3.98 (for what become the guns), but today I dropped another $3.21 on buckles to make her belt, so it's getting quite pricey.  ;-)  I am quite proud of the made-from-scrap lightning bolt bodice, though!

Thursday night I'll be Kvothe from The Name of the Wind (for an event here)

Friday I'll be Col. Zechs Merquise from Gundam Wing.  My sister will be Lt. Lucrezia Noin, paired for our costuming panels.

Saturday will be Characters Inspired by Faust.

Sunday will be whatever costume I grab in my bleary state.  I may find myself part armored alchemist, part Buddhist monk, part Trixie from original Speed Racer, part Count of Monte Cristo....  Kind of like those terrible nightmares from high school when you go to school without any pants....

    Re: What's Your Plans?

     Awh you look so lovely!

Okay, honestly. I see what you mean about the trim, after a while carrying that it will feel heavy. Be careful dealer hall strolling as the beads may snag things or passer bys might get snagged. It looks larger than the one I have, although I could be wrong.

Personally I'd say alterate parasols from day to day. That way your arm can rest some by having a lighter parasol one day. Also an ivory parasol will contrast nicely with your wig and let it show off. Where as the brown against the brown parasol tends to mute it a little.

I love, Love, LOVE the little brown gloves. Those are so delicate and lady like! A great finishing touch.

I think you did a great job of color coordinating and pulling things together. I'll bring my lace parasol and fan so you can alternate for a day so as to not have to carry the heavier parasol all the time, and I think bringing a color change will keep the costume fresh looking from day to day while still being recognizable.

Thank you for sharing. It looks fabulous, and I really love that wig! You did an amazing job on that sweetie! *hugs*

I totally second the gloves. They add that *perfect* touch! And match the parasol, too. Does it fold down to become kind of like a walking stick at all?

    Awesome outfit.

DD- Thank you SO much! I'll probably use it Friday. I can just find you in the Tavern, right? (I'm a lame GC attendee and I've never made it over there, but I do have a TD run this year! Yey!)

Thanks hun! It does fold down this is the best photos I have of it.

I am wearing 3 in platform shoes undernieth it (I'm only 5'2" or so) so it almost touches the ground as a walking stick, but it thankfully looks good (I think) folded down :)

The gloves are my fav. They have some really neat details you can't see in the photos, I took some of the extra beading off the parasol trim and beaded right at the wrists and took the same trim off the dress and put that around the wrists. I'm SO proud of those little gloves LOL!

    Re: What's Your Plans?

I'll try and find everyone! I can't wait to see everyone all dolled up. This is only the second year I've been able to attend GenCon, and this year I'm lucky enough to get to dress up. If you see a Tsunade with a couple of people who look like they belong in a D&D session, that's most likely me! Come say hi or give hugs or whatever! I'd like to see as many different costumes as possible!

Okay. I think I've figured out how to stick a picture on here... Photobucket

Yay! I figured it out. The only things I need to do is fix up my blonde wig (once I get it!) and do my make-up! ^^ I sadly don't have a pig plushie to be TonTon... Sad

Oohhh I love the pics with the umbrella as a walking stick so that the fabulous wig shines in all its glory!!! Totally love those pics!

And yes am at the tavern, almost always am. Will probably be there by 8am so you can come by any time in the morning to get it. If you like I'll PM you my cell number so you can me when you're on your way over and I can have it ready for you. :)

Did I mention I love the wig?!  =D

Thanks for sharing the fabulous pics.

Just to throw my two cents in, I too encouraging dressing up even if you aren't in the costume contest.

I mean that is part of why I attend! I can dress up and be silly! When else can you dress up in costumes for four days in a row and it be perfectly okay?

Teehee. For me that is part of the fun of the convention.

That is exactly what I am doing this year. Smile This is my first year at Gen Con, and it sounds like a lot of fun! I also love dressing up, so I am going as Rangiku Matsumoto from Bleach. Is anyone else going as a character from Bleach?  I think I will save the costume contest until next year, I want this year to check things out and get a feel for how everything works here. Cool

Although I wasn't in costume last year, or will be this year, I LOVE looking at all the costumes, so please, dress up!

Oh please dress up! I love seeing characters from Bleach! There were a good handful or so of people who dressed up from it last year, so your chances are high of someone dressing up from it.

I so had that same idea!  Not with the Labyrinth though.  I wanted to incorporate my Latin dancing with a cosplay.  Maybe next year we should get together and plan something extremely awesome!  I'm pretty good with the costumes.  I won 2nd place in the Golden Needle category last year.  I've just never had the opportunity to work with a group, since none of my friends are into the costuming, or they suffer from stage fright.

This has potential.  My long term goal is to get three couples to do a group west coast swing dressed as the crew from Serenity to "Save a Horse (Ride a Cowboy)."  Where are you from?

I like my women the way I like my swing dancing: fast, loose, and airborne.

I'm from Indy.  I prefer Latin dances mostly.  I haven't dabbled all that much with swing.  Not saying I couldn't pick up fast though!

One of my ideas was putting together a Dancing with the Stars Parody, using video game, anime, and/or sci-fi characters.  That way several kinds of dances could be used, and we can use several different characters to cosplay.  Just take that characters costume, and modify the design a bit to go along with that dance.
