    Rose McGowan as... Red Sonja?

#1 -  Stacy Keibler   5'11"   HHHOOOTTT!!  not sure about her acting skills, but could do the fighting well.

#2 -  Shannon Elizabeth  5'9"  Also HOT!  Can act, but have questions about her playing action role.

#3 -  Any Tall, Fit, Hot  playboy playmate that can somewhat act.  Because we all know it is just about the Cleavage!

Rose McGowan---- Wouldn't make the top 20 of my list if I were to choose.

What about Marisa Miller, I might have to move her into my #3  spot.

They could get Lucy Lawless and simply dye her hair red. *shrugs*

I doubt she'd take it just because of type casting concerns.

Good idea though, her or Hudson Leick ( Callisto ) could play the role well.

Edit: Wife wants to add another option, assuming they can act.

American Gladiators; Jennifer Widerstorm or Gina Carano

Have seen Gina Carano mentioned a couple times. She's been looking to get into acting, so that could be good for her, but she's never actually done any acting, so I wonder if she'd be ready for a starring role in a major motion picture.

But she wins the "badass" award hands down. She's one hell of a Muay Thai kickboxer, and her ground game isn't bad, either.

I still dont know whom Rose McGowan is... but I stand by my movie formula..

On remakes or based upon's...  I always like to see "really good unknown actors" fill the parts...

Good Budget, Good Director and Unknown actors, hungry to please ...

    Usually makes for good movies.

Lucy Lawless..aka Xena.. never...  Renee' O'connor -aka Gabrial... definately over Lucy... if they were going to go that route

Which does make another good point--sword experience.  Although, I do recall Rose McGowan doing an episode in Charmed where they were Valkyrie's--so she may have SOME background. Confused

    Rose McGowan as... Red Sonja?

According to imbd.com the movie Red Sonja is in pre-production, and Rose McGowan is selected as the leading role.

At 5'4" they better use camera angles to make her seem taller!

Okay, my respect for Robert Rodriguez has officially plummetted. Why couldn't he have talked about casting Red Sonja with us first?

Someone who just hit me as a good possibility for either Red Sonja or even Wonder Woman -- Moon Bloodgood. Tall, beautiful, and a very good actress. With some work, she could buff up a bit and maybe learn how to fight well, with and without a sword.

    Red Sonja promo posters

    These look pathetic, very pathetic.

Rodriguez was a talented director. These posters look like he's ripping off the visual textures from Zack Snyder's 300 in one and, well, making a very poor mix of sex and violence with the other. I really don't remember Red Sonja enjoying a good melee quite like that.

I have to agree. Planet Terror was a great horror spoof, but now he's taking a step backwards. There should be some law to prevent making movies look like Sin City, not that that would stop Frank Miller.....The Spirit looks awful.

SO you didn't like the look of SIn City at all or you think no other films use should use that look?  In my opinion Rodriguez pioneered the look so if he want to go back to it that a matter of his own personal visual style an i have no problem with that.

I loved Sin City, but the whole point was to emulate the visual style of the comic book. It looks weird when applied to other things that aren't adapted from late Frank Miller artwork.
