I'm not planning on doing it anytime soon but I'd like to go to Gen Con, at some point, as Deathstroke the Terminator (a semi-obscure DC Comics villain).

 Anyone have any ideas as to how this costume might be assembled? I am a complete newbie to cosplay and making costumes - have never done it before.

 

 

If you want folks to know who your talking about you can use the more kid friendly "Slade" from the Teen Titans cartoon. 

Deathstroke the Terminator just didn't seem to fit into the target age group.

That looks like a fairly easy one.  

Order a black zentai suit off of ebay (I got mine for $22, shipping included) for the base and then add gauntlet gloves, boot covers, replica ammo belt, etc. to stay true to the comic representation.  If you go with Slade, you just add knee pads, shin guards, arm guards, etc. made with grey or silver foam.   I'm not sure how to do his head though.
