    Badges Still Being Sent Out?

As of today I haven't received my badge, tickets, or True Dungeon tokens. A friend of mine who I am going to GenCon with received his stuff almost 2 weeks ago. I wrote customer service an email 2 days ago asking the status, and have yet to receive a response. When should I begin freaking out about this?

    Thanks.

Re: Badges Still Being Sent Out?

The badges are still shipping. Per the registration tab on the main site, August 1st is the date to start inquiring. It seems that the will call and ship to me options were based on a per transaction basis and not what you had last set it to be. So it's a good idea to review your Gen Con 2008 purchases to see if something may be waiting at will-call.

As far as I know, the True Dungeon tokens come direct from the True Dungeon folks and not Gen Con; so you'll want to check with them. http://www.truedungeon.com/true/tokens.htm

I got 3 out of my 4 badges over 2 weeks ago and was beginning to freak out a bit because the missing badge belongs to my most neurotic kid.

Guess what?  It finally showed up in today's mail.  Have faith friend, yours may make an appearance soon.

So long, and thanks for all the fish!

Great to hear Stormy--hope your kid hasn't climbed the walls to the point you need a firefighter rescue now though lol. Wink

It seems several folks are getting them in today in fact, so we'll have to see if the number of folks sweating it out over the past few weeks drops---let's hope so!!

This is why I'm glad that I have to pick up my badge at the convention center. Not only do I not have to worry about forgetting it at home, but I also don't have to go through the "I just KNOW it got lost in the mail" phase. And trust me, my paranoia would set in fast! Stick out tongue

The boys and I got our badges / tix today.  Solitude's badge was "delayed" for reasons unknown as it was actually supposed to arrive before ours.

Exactly. Not having to worry about it is worth a quick trip to the convention center on Wednesday to our group.

Wouldn't you know it - the day I started this thread was the day I finally recieved my badge and tickets in the mail. I also got an email back from customer support on the very same day. Unfortunatly I was one of the few that accidentally hit the UPS COD for my delivery method (still not sure how that slipped by me), but paying the $9 was worth it to put my mind at ease.

Now on to hounding True Dungeon about where my starter tokens are.

Yeah I ended up with that UPS thing too. I was sure I had checked something else, but it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things!

Do you mean the ones you get free with your ticket?  You get those when you check in before your run.  If you ordered more, though, you should definitely email Jeff.

Yeah I contacted True Dungeon and they said we would get our treasure tokens (the ones that came with the purchase of the tickets) when we showed up for the event. So it looks like I am all set now. Man - August 14th can't come fast enough! Smile

Re: Badges Still Being Sent Out?

I find the August 1st "Its time to panic" date to be troublesome, b/c for me personally thats too late to panic! I live in Newfoundland Canada and i have had lots of experience shipping things from the US (go ebay!). I know that it takes on average 2 weeks to get a package (really 2 weeks +/- 2 days). I have yet to recieve my badge or event tickets and i know that unless it comes on some kind of express super de duper delievery then it'll arrive after I leave. All i can hope is that it was sent out before August 1st and is flying to my post office as i type.

Re: Badges Still Being Sent Out?

Obviously, if you live further away, then you know your own 'best time to panic' and would therefore contact customer service prior to this. I am _positive_ that other people have already contacted customer service. Especially those not on the boards.  I'm also going to assume that you already doublechecked your order and know that willcall was not accidentally checked, and that since you're in Canada, you had to use UPS, not USPS, and that therefore you have either gotten your email that it was shipped, or have not, and if you have not, that that probably means willcall anyway.

I've listed a lot of assumptions that I find obvious. Maybe you're an optimist who doesn't doublecheck and will just assume everything's fine. I'm not, really, and tend to be the type who double/triplechecks everything, as I'm a FIRM believer in Murphy's Law. And sadly, quite often, I'm right. Sad Things DO go wrong. So if you haven't yet contacted customer service, if I were you, I'd be on the phone.

Re: Badges Still Being Sent Out?

    I have:

A.) triple checked my shipping status

    B.) e-mailed custermer support about 3 days ago (maybe 4 can't recall)

C.) Tried calling but its continually busy on both lines (i don't know if this is b/c i'm calling from Canada)

D.) i. Recieved no e-mail stating that my badge has been shipped

ii. Although i did recieve an e-mail yesterday from "UPS". It stated that the package I sent on july 21st (i have no knowledge of such a package) had an unreadable address so I had to print off the attached invoice to pick it up at my local UPS office. The invoice was picked up as a virus by AVG antivirus, the email address that this notificaiton came from was random letters @ bluestartours.com, it did not look in any way offical, and there was no signiture at the bottom, just UPS. In addition my e-mail address was incorrect which begs the question how it ended up in my inbox in the first place Confused. I could only assume this was some kind of scam and promptly deleted it.

EDIT: just read you other post braewe on how the front page does absolutly nothing to change the status of my tickets and badges once they are purchaced. Well now its too late to have them shipped here. Turns out my event tickets are being shipped though, so i'm still in the same boat as before, just minus a badge to worry about.

Re: Badges Still Being Sent Out?

I did receive my badge, COD, about a week after the UPS email stated. So there was a slight delay.

Update us this week when you get yours.
