    Official Shuttle Bus Survey

From the twitter feed: Survey Make sure you select your hotel if you are hoping to have access to the shuttle. Couldn't hurt.

    Re: Official Shuttle Bus Survey

Well the shuttle is a great idea, but there $50 price point is way to high to be useful unless your a single person. For the two of us it would be 100$ for the shuttle service. There is no way with parking and gas we would be anywhere near that and that includes coming in for wednesday gaming. They would get a ton more users if they had a lower price point.

    Re: Official Shuttle Bus Survey

Is that $50 for a day or for the whole weekend? If it's for the whole weekend, it could well be worth it, even for smaller groups.

    Re: Official Shuttle Bus Survey

    4 x $25(?) daily parking = 100.00

    3 x $50 shuttle bus = 150.00

Do I want to spend 17 extra dollars a person on shuttle to not have to search for parking and worry about 3 people's schedules and when they may want to go back to the hotel?  Alternatively, how the frak am I supposed to get all my dealer hall loot back to the hotel in a time efficient manner using shuttle? Will the shuttle run frequently enough and for long enough each day to allow access to the early and late events?

So how much does it cost to park within walking distance of the con?

I'm sure for some people, they'll choose to drive and park. But I think it's a really good option for people who come to town and don't have transportation, and/or don't want to rely on someone else's schedule.

When we stayed at an Outlander Hotel last year, I made the driver come back 3 hours later to get me. . .

I agree with Marimacc. If I had a hotel out by the airport I would look into the $50 shuttle (it is for the whole con 24 hours/day). I don't think they said when they were starting the service, though.

I know Marimacc & I have been voicing our views about various stops and even limited access passes for the shuttle on their Facebook wall. It sounds like the limited access passes won't be available this year, but if enough of us say we want it maybe next year it will happen. I know I would like to be able to get out of downtown once or twice for dinner, but I don't drive in and my boyfriend rides in a group (he isn't the driver, normally).

    Re: Official Shuttle Bus Survey

I'm curious as to how the shuttles will run.  If there was some sort of circuit between the downtown hotels and convention center, that would be pretty good.  Events are spread out between the Omni/Crowne Plaza on one end and JW Marriott at the other.  It's hard to schedule events when I know they are in the hinterland.

This is what they are showing or the airport shuttle:

It looks similar to the old Green Line.

So how does parking work for early/late events? Are lots open all the time and you don't have to remove your car by a certain time? 10 dollars a day, I can schlep to and fro.

I haven't seen any (yet) that close up at certain times, but there probably are some. And given both Gen Con and the MotoGP that weekend, any lots that normally close might adjust their hours. Locals can probably give you better and more accurate information though.

    Re: Official Shuttle Bus Survey

Looking at the survey, it does say it will run all hours. Does anyone have more info or a link to this specific offering for when tickets go on sale? Please don't post a facebook ro twitter link unless thats the only thing they have. I don't use twitter and at work I cant access facebook. Thanks!

Last I saw on their Facebook page they said they were finishing getting the routes put together, and were going to release them soon.

Taxi from the airport costs about 30 dollars so I really hope this starts before I arrive (solo) Tuesday evening.

I assume it will still run Monday morning too?

18 hours one way. Worth it.

I don't know about Monday, but they do have a seperate $10 shuttle service to and from the airport itself that you can book. I don't know that the shuttle pass will include an airport route.
