Browse and search event listings online

Just like last year, I've taken the event listings and put them online in a browsable and searchable system. I hope the search functionality is particularlly useful.  You can search across all days.  You can limit the search to a particular time range ("What can I fit between noon and 5?").  You can search subsets of the categories ("I'm only interested in RPG and RPGA events.")  You can filter based on the age or experience requirements ("I want hard-core gamers, so only show me games with a "mature" age requirement and "Extensive Experience Required" or higher).  You can limit your search to events with tickets available (regrettably this will usually lag the official site's data by day or so.

I'll be updating the site with the official data as it's released.

    First update

It's late, and I have a long meeting tomorrow, but the first, very minor update is in place.  One of the things I do for my database is "scrub" the data, correcting typos and standardizing names.  This means that, for example, "Vampire: The Requim" has only only entry in the RPG list, not "Vampire the Requim, "Vampire: the Requim," and "Vampire: The Requim."  I kept the old scrubbing data from last year, so I got a lot of corrections for free, but this year added new and more interesting typos and weird decisions.  I've added a bunch of corrections.  More are needed, I'll slowly work through them over the next few days.

Good night and good event hunting.  Me, I'm going to have nightmares about scrubbing out the naming catastrophe that is "HERO," "Hero System," "HERO (Champions)," "Champions (Hero)," "Hero RPG" and friends.

Re: Browse and search event listings online

Yay!!!  I looked at your list from 2006 a couple of weeks ago, and I found it to be a super accessible way to look at last year's information.  I am STOKED that you're so quick to get this year's info up!

    Thank you so much ADSmet!

Actually, you wouldn't happen to have a record of which events you changed, would you? I'd like to be able to go in update the actual official event listing as well and don't want to have to manually duplicate that work Smile
