I loves me some Rock Band :) Glad to see it on the list. I will have to hone my skills on the bass for this(I still suck at drums)

Do I understand it correctly the days of open gaming in the eGame arean are dead and gone?  It's tourny or nothing?  I have enjoyed the the eGame arean since Millwakee and playing Blood and Quake to later late nights of Counter Strike, DDO, CoH, etc. 

No no, not at all; my understanding is it will be available for open gaming when there isn't a tournament.  As for hours past dealer's room hours; I haven't really heard anything about that yet, sorry.

Hey, sorry if this is obvious, but I tried to register online for one of the tournaments and it told me it wasn't open for online registration currently?  How do I get around this???

Online pre-registration is closed. You'll be able to register on-site, starting at 9am Weds. the 13th.

Thank you for the prompt reply.  However, I pre-registered online on the last day to do so (at the end of June), and at that time there were no eGame Arena event available for pre-registration.

 Is there any way to get around this?  I ask because I am only going to be able to make it for Saturday, and the tournament I'd like to participate in is a Saturday one, so being able to register in some way beforehand would be nice so I could ensure myself a spot.

 I'd like to think it's not simply a shot in the dark at this point.

Unfortunately, there is no way around the system. Any events added after the end of preregistration are for on-site registration only.  A few years ago, they allowed pre-reg for pickup well after the "ship to me" deadline, but they don't do that anymore as they don't have the staff for it at the moment.  You'll have to get a ticket on site.

Don't forget that all the eGame Arena events are free, and as with (most) other free events, you don't need a ticket.

You can just show up and see if there's space, you're just not guaranteed a spot.

Quick question about the Rock Band, are you going to be able to show up with friends and compete in the band set up? Or is it you all by yourself? 

 Well I'll be bringing all the instruments so it'll be a battle of the bands, but I wouldn't expect it to get too formal - rock 'n' roll knows no rules, boundaries, nationalities or genders!

 I attended GenCon Indy 2006, and there they handed out a crystal-esque trophy for the winner of one of the tournaments.  Is a similar prize being given this year as well?  Does anybody know what the prizes for the winners are?

Prizes are still very much TBD, but I can confirm that there will be no trophies or ribbons this year, sorry.

This might be a silly question but is there any age restriction on entering the tournaments? The reason I'm asking is a friend of mine is wanting to get into the Gears tournament and his partner is 17. Is that going to be an issue? Thank you in advance!

Yes. All games, whether in a tournamnet or not, will be appropriately age-restricted according to the ESRB rating.

If you want to play in a tournament you're not old enough for, then your parent/guardian needs to give their permission and stay with you for the duration of the event (or at least for as long as your playing).

I have one more question though. With the Gears Tournament a 2 on 2 does each person on the team need a ticket or will one ticket cover them both?

Each person needs a ticket, in as much as you need a ticket for any eGame event (i.e. it'll reserve you a spot but if there's space you can just walk up).
