Is the auction good for a single CCG card

I have an expensive yu-gi-oh card that I need to get rid of.   It's the gold series Crush Card Virus that sells for a lot, and is the chase rare at the moment.

Is the auction good for something like this?   I would obviously need a minimum value accepted.

I read somewhere that everything in the store had to be under a certain price.  Is that true?   If so then I guess this would need to be live auctioned and not in the store..

Per the Live Games Auction page, items for the store can't be priced higher than $40.

    Anything else, I can't answer.

As an alternative, you might have good luck just trying to sell it to a dealer in the exhibit hall.  There are multiple CCG dealers that both buy and sell cards during the con.

Yep - we limit the store to lower priced items.  You wouldn't want a single card in the Auction store anyway...What if someone steals it??

You can put the card in the live Auction and just set your minimum bid (aka Reserve price).  We won't sell it for less than that !

I would recommend trying a buyer in the hall. I have sold to Strikezone and Coolstuffinc among others and received fairly good value for cards and minis. The auction is wonderful for many things, but not really for this item.

    Never too old for games.

I would NOT recommend the dealers hall.  I think you'd get a better price at the auction with the minimum you want for it.

hmm thanks for the responses..  maybe i'll see what the dealers will give me first and if it's below a minimum i'll put it in the auction.   I have a good idea about what they pay for it online, so we'll see how that changes when talking to them in person.   i would think if i want trade value instead of cash i might get more than i would otherwise.

The dealers will buy it from you for about half they will sell it for. They have a list that tells them how much they will give/get for specific cards, they use this same list for online and in person transactions. The only benefit is you may have a slight chance of being able to haggle them up. And only some will give you more in trade than in cash.
