I always wondered when someone was going to "catch on" that WSOG was completely 100% illegal under IN law. :-)
It would occur to me that:
- As it was an illegal event, something GC,LLC had no legal right to solicit ticket-sales for, that actual refunds in full (no penalty) would be in order, further
- if a person was ONLY registered for WSOG events, they could have a case for demanding a refund for the badge fee, as that was a prereq for the illegal WSOG registration
- if they only registered for the WSOG and they put a deposit down on housing, that they should be entitled to get their deposit back as well.
The reality is that GC,LLC *has* to "do the right thing here", because the last thing they want to do is be named as a defendant in small claims court in Indiana for refusing to refund money collected in association with an illegal gambling operation.
The press on that... muy bad.
