    Poker refunds

I can't tell from the email I got if my refund is to my credit card or the system.   As the amount is $108, and as my dad (who I've already paid for housoing, transportation and a badge) was going solely for this, I'd really prefer the money.  I'm not sure I'll be able to take advantage of a Gen Con system credit.

Have you e-mailed customer service yet?

*edit* I would also see what refunds would be available for housing, etc.  Obviously transportation is a different matter.

    Re: Poker refunds

I always wondered when someone was going to "catch on" that WSOG was completely 100% illegal under IN law. :-)

It would occur to me that:

    • As it was an illegal event, something GC,LLC had no legal right to solicit ticket-sales for, that actual refunds in full (no penalty) would be in order, further
    • if a person was ONLY registered for WSOG events, they could have a case for demanding a refund for the badge fee, as that was a prereq for the illegal WSOG registration
    •  if they only registered for the WSOG and they put a deposit down on housing, that they should be entitled to get their deposit back as well.

The reality is that GC,LLC *has* to "do the right thing here", because the last thing they want to do is be named as a defendant in small claims court in Indiana for refusing to refund money collected in association with an illegal gambling operation.

The press on that... muy bad.

    Mr. Shiny,

I don't know the specifics of how the refund is working, or if they've all been done already; I would suggest you email Aleta directly, to explain your specific situation.

If your Dad is going still, there are other SPA events that he can attend, assuming he's not a Gamer and he's coming to spend time learning a bit more about his son and his hobby.

The letter I got with my badge and tickets said that events that are canceled will be given a refund with no fees on site.  That said, I would contact customer service about refunding the badge as well if he does not plan on going.
