I'm pretty suprised that Bucca's isn't a more popular choice among Gencon goers.

I'm pretty suprised that Bucca's isn't a more popular choice among Gencon goers.

For one reason - family style dining.  Get four friends together and order one of their large family style pastas.  They range in price from 18 - 27 dollars and feed 4 to six.  Yes, four extrodinary sized gamers could stuff themselves with the best italian food in Indy for about 7 bucks each and still have leftovers.  That is if you can all agree on one dish.

Of course the Ram is still the best place for beer and burgers.

This place was on our list (we have a couple in San Diego and it's very good), but we somehow never made it there.

I have eaten at that particular Bucca's in past years, and considered it again this year, but went to the one in Columbus during Origins, so I had had my Bucca's fix within recent memory.  Thus, I focused on other places.

I do try to eat at places I can only go to when I go to a particular town for a convention, but Bucca's is one place I make an exception for.  Great food and lots of it.  Also, the signs and pictures on the walls are hysterical!

We went there this year and it was just meh. They were out of gnocchi (a group favorite) and even with a reservation we had to wait for a table. I was not to impressed. Plus, for our 7 person group we had 1 large and 3 small entrees (plus a large salad and garlic bread) and there were no leftovers.

I wasn't that impressed, honestly.  Some good food, but the whole atmosphere made me feel a little overwhelmed.  Plus, the place was a maze and I always got lost trying to get to the bathroom and back!

They have waits that are a little too long, and I'm spending a lot of money at GenCon anyway.....I can't afford too many meals that cost more than Subway or the Circle Centre food court.

I loved Bucca's! I ate there at the 07 gencon and loved it. Then again with the group at Origins this june. Great service and good both times. I really look forward to going there next year.

We have enjoyed Bucca for the last three years.  I make reservations for the 8 to 10 of us and confirm before we get there.  Last year we did not get a good table but this year we had a great time.

    review of Buca's

I found a review of a Buca (one 'c') that seems favorable.  Right place?  Lot of different Italian spots I'm sure.

One problem we run into is that when we get the group together, some of us have eaten within the last four hours and uh, just couldn't eat that much food.  So, we usually head somewhere else instead.

The workers for the Gamers for Humanity work day headed to Buca after the Tuesday work day.  The food was wonderful. I ordered a lunch size/personal serving and couldn't finish it.  The best part was after we were done, the waitress asked about what we were doing, we told her about Gamers for Humanity, and she said "give me a sec to speak to my manager".  She came back and gave us $100 in gift cards, which we used as a daily drawing for our booth!  I know at least 3 people who will be eatting at Buca sometime!

It seemed pretty popular on the nights that I passed buy.  There was a line to get in every time.
