Video of Charity Auction - Giant 20 sided

In case you missed it live...Gary's son describing the charity and Josh (the auctioneer) selling the item with a great story.

(not my video - just searched to see if someone captured the event and fortunately, someone did)

    ROFL  That's my video!!!!

But to be more serious - that was one of the most touching things I've ever seen. And for those that click on the link - I'm sorry the audio at the beginning is so bad - I tried to type out the gist of what is being said until the audio gets better later on. And as I posted in the info section, I kept getting run into by rude people who just HAD to get into the auction store, so forgive the shakiness too.

It was a pretty good moment that really touches on the gamer community in general based on my experience.

Thanks for the link, I needed a good cry this morning.

We took off early, about noon on Saturday, to head back so I could preach Sunday morning in Michigan.  I was very sorry to miss this particular auction.  Thank you so much for getting the video and posting it.

Thank you for posting this.  I was unable to attend and I was glad to see the true love and admiration felt for the man who helped bring us all together.

Thanks for the link, I too missed the event. At least there are some of my dice inside that thing.

I keep telling people that gamers are the best damn folks on the planet; and this shows just why.

Think you could figure out which ones they were?Stick out tongue

Thought the addition of (what I can only assume are) notes or event tickets was nice as well. I know the camera angle isn't ideal in this one, but the hole in the 8 was only so big, and I couldn't really turn it to the angle I wanted, but at least this gives you an idea of the dice inside.

Re: Video of Charity Auction - Giant 20 sided

    Great pic.  Thanks!!!

The yellow six siders look like the commemorative/memorial dice handed out by the Mavens at the Stink for the great big simultaneous die roll for Gary.  Very cool that folks put theirs in the memorial giant d20.  I kept mine and put in an old d6 from my Gamma World and AD&D days.

Also check out the dice stuck to the duct tape!  How cool is that!  They look like the swag d6's from the bags.  They may have been free, but it is still a cool tribute.
