    Homewood Suites

For those of you who have stayed there, is it nice, and how is the walk to the con?  Thanks.
My new current goal is to be present for Gencon 75, without missing one in between.

    Re: Homewood Suites

The walk to the convention centre isn't that bad - the hotel is right across the street from the Omni and about a block down from the Hampton Inn.  The only problem I had was during the weekend coming in after dark - there are two bars close to the hotel and then the beggars on every street corner - really made my youngest very uncomfortable.  Also, right across the street is the Spaghetti Factory and if you go in through that door, you can grab the "hamster" tube that connects the Omni with the mall - so if it rains or you just don't want to deal with any street crossings.....

The last thing I'll say is if you walked to the Ram from the Convention Center, then you are 3/4 of the way to the hotel.

The hotel is wonderful!  Hot breakfast every morning - and with different menu items every day.  Monday through Thursday they have a very nice hot supper for the guests as well - with fresh baked cookies for dessert!  They clean off the tables for you - they say you visiting their home - so sit back and relax and let them do the work.  Nice pool, exercise area, laundry facilities, pool table and if you leave the do not disturb sign on the door you will still get new towels every day - they left a plastic bag on our door with fresh soap, shampoo's and new towels.  The internet is free and each room has a kitchen with a full size fridge, 2 burner stove, microwave, dishwasher and sink - it's fully stocked with appliances so you don't have to worry about brining anything to cook with.  Our room had a king size bed with a queen size sofa sleeper and one thing I don't think I've ever seen in a hotel room - a ceiling fan.

I would really like to stay here again next year, but we'll see what happens.... I would highly recommend it.

Tomi - how much were the rooms? Was the fridge/stove useful?
