On June 27th at 11:59 pm (Eastern), badge and event pre-registration will end. 8 more days to go! If you want to order your badge and sign up for events BEFORE you arrive onsite in August, be sure to make your purchases before RUBI closes its pre-registration doors!
Reminder for Friend Accounts
If you purchased a badge for a Friend when badge registration opened, be sure that Friend has created their account and accepted your Friend Request! If they don’t, their badge and event tickets will not be associated with an account and will NOT be processed. If you have any questions regarding these procedures, please contact email@example.com.
Make sure your information is up-to-date
Have you checked the spelling of your name and mailing address on your RUBI Account Details page? If not, go to www.genconreg.com and click on “Account Details” from the Main Menu or “My Account” in the top menu. From there, you can edit and save your name and address. Shipping begins in early July, so make sure everything is up-to-date by June 27th!
Come Volunteer for Indy 2009
If the economy has got you down and you’re not sure if you can afford coming to Gen Con Indy this year, consider joining the Standard Volunteer Program! 16-Hour Volunteers receive badge reimbursement and 32-Hour Volunteers receive badge and partial hotel reimbursement. Check out all of our Volunteer Programs on our Volunteer web page.. For specific questions, feel free to contact the Customer Service & Volunteer Manager at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Premier events with tickets still available
Looking for some more events to sign up for? Not sure where to start? If you're overwhelmed by the 6500+ events in the full schedule and want to find a quality event, we have put together a list of premier events that still have tickets available (as of Wednesday, 6/17).
These events are all run by some of the best gaming groups and companies at Gen Con. They work closely with us to maintain a high level of quality and their events are reliably well-attended. These games include a variety of board games from Rogue Judges, Tracy Hickman’s Killer Breakfast, the incredibly exciting and immersive TerrorWerks, and several Pathfinder events.
If you have any questions about these events or want other suggestions on events to check out at the convention, stop by the Event Info forum and ask your fellow attendees. Please visit our GM forum for more information on the Premier Events Reward Program.
Anime & Film schedule is up, with special guest, Vic Mignogna
The initial Anime & Film schedules are now live in the registration system – make sure to check out the special screenings we have this year, including Richard Garriott and Tracy Hickman’s Apogee of Fear, the first SF movie filmed in space and Mercury Men, the new series from the creators of Captain Blasto, a winner of the Gen Con Film Contest. There is also a special, immersive presentation for the upcoming movie based on Matt Forbeck’s classic superhero RPG, Brave New World.
We are also pleased to announce a special guest: Vic Mignogna (Edward Elric in Fullmetal Alchemist) will be attending Gen Con Indy 2009. In addition to several Q&A panels, he will be talking about his experience in the voice acting and music business, and sharing some of his favorite memories of working on Fullmetal Alchemist. This is your chance to meet the voice behind one of the most popular anime characters in recent memory!
