Forwarding the info on our Guests of HOnor this year. Will post more info here as I can, such as website links, Seminar and class info, etc.
A heads up to let you guys know that Jennifer Haley is going to be our MHE guest
of honor this year. She'll be our special judge at the painting competition and
will be giving classes and demo throughout the show.
We also have a special one day industry guest of honor, Sheperd Paine. He'll be
giving his Diorama Design & Construction seminar Saturday at noon and will have
copies of his new book with him for signing. For those of you who do not know of
him, Here's the blurb off the Gen Con Industry Guest of Honor page:
Sheperd Paine was raised in New England and received his BA from the University
of Chicago. For many years he has worked in the military history field as a
free-lance artist, sculptor, and writer. His commissions include dioramas for
private collections (notably those of Andrew Wyeth and Forbes Magazine), museum
projects, and several large commemorative sculptures for the Franklin Mint.
Special displays of his work have been seen at the Brandywine River Museum, the
Campbell Museum, and the St. Louis Museum of Science and Natural History.
He is the author of four books and has also been featured in articles in Sports
Illustrated and Fortune. His life and career were recently the subject of a
lavishly illustrated book, Sheperd Paine: the Life and work of a Master Modeler
and Military Historian, by Jim DeRogatis.
So go get the word out, it's going to be a great convention!
